Music became therapy, an outlet, and eventually a passion that evolved into purpose. “I’d sit in my room for hours on end going through beats, making songs, and that would bring me joy. I’d sit back and be like, ‘Damn, this is fire—and it’s 100% mine.’ You know? Like, I did that.”
Challenges of his career
Since those early days, the journey hasn’t always been smooth. One of his biggest challenges has been managing expectations—learning to let go of perfectionism and pride, and instead, focusing on pouring everything into each release. “I’ve stopped setting my expectations so high for every drop, because that can just lead to disappointment,” he explains. “Now, I just stay humble, put my all into every release, and let time do its thing.”

Looking ahead, kurtxchampagne sees nothing but potential. His goal? To become one of the top three artists in Richmond—and possibly beyond. With a catalog of songs that vary widely in style and energy, he has the rare ability to give every listener something to connect with. “I can make ten songs and they’re all completely different,” he says. “So every listener can have a select style that’s for them—something I can build on.”
While he’s not currently promoting a specific album or single, this press run marks his first real step into the spotlight. “I haven’t been promoting anything or having my name attached to anything,” he says. “So I thought this would be a good opportunity to get my feet in the door.”
